Alkaptonuria
Phenylketonuria : ruclips.net/video/Gf2-Bwkb6D0/видео.html&pp=ygUXcGhlbnlsa2V0b251cmlhIGh1c3NhaW4%3D
Alkaptonuria is a rare inherited genetic disease which is caused by a mutation in the HGD gene for the enzyme homogentisate 1,2-dioxygenase if a person inherits an abnormal copy from both parents (it is a recessive condition), the body accumulates an intermediate substance called homogentisic acid in the blood and tissues. Homogentisic acid and its oxidized form alkapton are excreted in the urine, giving it an unusually dark color. The accumulating homogentisic acid causes damage to cartilage (ochronosis, leading to osteoarthritis) and heart valves, as well as precipitating as kidney stones...

Phenylketonuria and its metabolism
Просмотров 36821 день назад
Phenylketonuria (PKU) is an inborn error of metabolism that results in decreased metabolism of the amino acid phenylalanine.Untreated PKU can lead to intellectual disability, seizures, behavioral problems, and mental disorders.Phenylketonuria is an inherited genetic disorder. It is caused by mutations in the PAH gene, which can result in inefficient or nonfunctional phenylalanine hydroxylase, a...
Synthesis of Non Essential Amino Acids | Basic Overview
Просмотров 1 тыс.Месяц назад
Six other amino acids are considered conditionally essential in the human diet, meaning their synthesis can be limited under special pathophysiological conditions, such as prematurity in the infant or individuals in severe catabolic distress These six are arginine, cysteine, glycine, glutamine, proline, and tyrosine. Six amino acids are non-essential (dispensable) in humans, meaning they can be...
Structure of Inner Ear
Просмотров 436Месяц назад
Structure of Ear : ruclips.net/video/DWAdKytD2zA/видео.htmlsi=Wam3XhKznfMBu31S The inner ear sits within the temporal bone in a complex cavity called the bony labyrinth. A central area known as the vestibule contains two small fluid-filled recesses, the utricle and saccule. These connect to the semicircular canals and the cochlea. There are three semicircular canals angled at right angles to ea...
Structure of Ear | Flow Charts and Animation

An ear is the organ that enables hearing and (in mammals) body balance using the vestibular system. In mammals, the ear is usually described as having three parts: the outer ear, the middle ear and the inner ear. The outer ear consists of the pinna and the ear canal. Since the outer ear is the only visible portion of the ear in most animals, the word "ear" often refers to the external part alon...
BAFF Signalling Pathway | B Cell Maturation and Survival
Просмотров 5112 месяца назад
BAFF is a soluble factor that activates the noncanonical NF-κB pathway, which is a key arm of NF-κB signaling. BAFF provides essential survival signals during B cell maturation. The NF-κB pathway is a prototypical proinflammatory signaling pathway that plays a critical role in the development, survival, and activation of B lymphocytes. NF-κB is a family of transcription factors that bind the en...
cGAS STING Signalling Pathway
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.2 месяца назад
The cytosolic DNA-sensing cGAS-STING pathway in innate immunity. Cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS) is a protein, which detects various cytosolic dsDNA, including viral DNA, damaged self-DNA released by dying cells, micronuclei, and mitochondrial origins. dsDNA activates cGAS via forming cGAS-dsDNA in 2:2 complexes. Mitochondrial damage and the release of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) in the cytosol al...
Hemolytic Anemia
Просмотров 4143 месяца назад
Hemolytic anemia or haemolytic anaemia is a form of anemia due to hemolysis, the abnormal breakdown of red blood cells (RBCs), either in the blood vessels (intravascular hemolysis) or elsewhere in the human body (extravascular). This most commonly occurs within the spleen, but also can occur in the reticuloendothelial system or mechanically (prosthetic valve damage). Hemolytic anemia accounts f...
Anemia | Types and Classification
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.3 месяца назад
Anemia is a blood disorder in which the blood has a reduced ability to carry oxygen due to a lower than normal number of red blood cells, a reduction in the amount of hemoglobin or hemoglobin abnormalities. The name is derived from Ancient Greek: ἀναιμία anaimia, meaning 'lack of blood', from ἀν- an-, 'not' and αἷμα haima, 'blood'.When anemia comes on slowly, the symptoms are often vague, such ...
Thin Layer Chromatography | Principle and Methods
Просмотров 5473 месяца назад
Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) is a chromatography technique that separates components in non-volatile mixtures It is performed on a TLC plate made up of a non-reactive solid coated with a thin layer of adsorbent material. This is called the stationary phase. The sample is deposited on the plate, which is eluted with a solvent or solvent mixture known as the mobile phase (or eluent). This solven...
Paper Chromatography and it types

Paper chromatography is an analytical method used to separate coloured chemicals or substances. It is now primarily used as a teaching tool, having been replaced in the laboratory by other chromatography methods such as thin-layer chromatography (TLC). The setup has three components. The mobile phase is a solution that travels up the stationary phase by capillary action. The mobile phase is gen...
Chromatography | Classification

chromatography is a laboratory technique for the separation of a mixture into its components. The mixture is dissolved in a fluid solvent (gas or liquid) called the mobile phase, which carries it through a system (a column, a capillary tube, a plate, or a sheet) on which a material called the stationary phase is fixed. Because the different constituents of the mixture tend to have different aff...
Wound Healing Mechanism
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.4 месяца назад
Wound healing refers to a living organism's replacement of destroyed or damaged tissue by newly produced tissue. In undamaged skin, the epidermis (surface, epithelial layer) and dermis (deeper, connective layer) form a protective barrier against the external environment. When the barrier is broken, a regulated sequence of biochemical events is set into motion to repair the damage. This process i...
Helicobacter Pylori Pathogenesis | Detailed
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.5 месяцев назад
Infection of the stomach with H. pylori is not the cause of illness itself; most H. pylori positive cases are asymptomatic. But persistent colonisation can induce a number of gastric and extragastric disorders. Gastric disorders due to infection begin with gastritis, inflammation of the stomach. When infection is persistent the prolonged inflammation will become chronic gastritis. Initially this...
Cytokines | Classification and Functions
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.5 месяцев назад
Cytokines are a broad and loose category of small proteins important in cell signaling. Due to their size, cytokines cannot cross the lipid bilayer of cells to enter the cytoplasm and therefore typically exert their functions by interacting with specific cytokine receptors on the target cell surface. Cytokines have been shown to be involved in autocrine, paracrine and endocrine signaling as imm...
